One of my favorite things about the walk is the sculptures.
They are scattered all along the path, and each one has a story.
We love stopping to look at the "Boy on the Seahorse."
It is such an iconic symbol of Puerto Vallarta!
But the extension has its own unique charm too.
The lighting is softer here, which makes the art look even more beautiful under the moon.
The stone path is smooth and perfect for a slow wander.

You can look down and see the river meeting the sea.

Once the sun goes down, the Malecon extension transforms.
The street lamps glow with a soft light that reflects off the cobblestones.
It is very safe and very peaceful.
You will see other couples doing exactly what you are doing, just enjoying the night.
Sometimes there are local musicians playing soft guitar music.
It feels like a movie set, but it is REAL life!

The path is well-maintained, but it is a long walk if you go all the way from Hotel Rosita to Lázaro Cárdenas Park.
Also, don't forget your camera.
