In the afternoon, visit an art studio or gallery. Give yourselves time to browse. You do not need to buy anything. Looking closely is enough.

The neighborhood is peaceful, but it is still part of a real Mexican city. You may hear local sounds, traffic, birds, or activity nearby. To me, that is part of the charm.

Amapas also works best when you want a local-feeling stay rather than a large resort environment. You get quiet surroundings, nearby culture, and plenty of ways to explore at your own pace.
