I decided to head south to the Puerto Vallarta Botanical Gardens. It is honestly one of my favorite places in the whole world. If you are a solo traveler looking for actual peace, this is the spot. <\/p>\n

I grabbed my bag, some water, and my journal. I didn\u2019t want a schedule. I didn't want a tour guide. I just wanted to be surrounded by green things and birds.<\/p>\n

The canopy of trees above is so thick that it feels like you're in a completely different world. I felt like an explorer. Every few steps, I\u2019d see a giant butterfly or a lizard scurrying across the path.<\/p>\n

I also spent some time at the Hacienda de Oro. It\u2019s the main building at the gardens. I sat on the balcony and watched the hummingbirds. They have dozens of feeders, and the birds are so used to people that they fly right past your head! It is AMAZING to see them so close.<\/p>\n
