I am a morning person through and through. <\/p>\n

There is something so special about waking up before the rest of the world. In Puerto Vallarta, that feeling is even more magical. <\/p>\n

I decided to tackle the hike to the Mirador de la Cruz. <\/p>\n

If you are a solo traveler looking for the best view in the city, this is it. It is challenging, it is sweaty, and the reward at the top is SOOO worth it!!<\/p>\n

The Early Start<\/h3>\n

My alarm went off at 6:15 AM. <\/p>\n

I didn't even hit snooze once. I grabbed my water bottle, laced up my sneakers, and stepped out into the quiet streets of the Zona Rom\u00e1ntica. <\/p>\n

The air was still cool. The scent of salt and blooming bougainvillea was everywhere. I love walking through Old Town when it is just me and the local vendors setting up for the day. <\/p>\n

Finding the path is pretty easy. I just headed toward the mountains from the Malecon. I followed Josefa Ortiz de Dom\u00ednguez street, which goes straight up. <\/p>\n

And when I say up, I mean UP.<\/p>\n

The hike starts with a steady incline on cobblestones. <\/p>\n

As a solo hiker, I found myself in a rhythm quickly. My breath was heavy, but the views getting better with every step kept me moving. I passed a few other early birds: mostly locals getting their morning workout in. <\/p>\n

One thing I love about being a solo traveler here is the sense of community. Even though I was alone, a quick "Buenos d\u00edas" to people passing by made me feel right at home. <\/p>\n

The last stretch is the hardest. It is a steep set of concrete steps that really tests your legs. I had to stop twice to catch my breath and take a sip of water. <\/p>\n

But then, I saw the cross. <\/p>\n

Reaching the Mirador<\/h3>\n

When I finally stepped onto the observation platform, I literally gasped. <\/p>\n

The entire Banderas Bay was spread out in front of me. The water was a deep, calm blue. The orange-tiled roofs of the city looked like a beautiful mosaic. <\/p>\n

I stood there for a long time. Just breathing. <\/p>\n
