I have lived in Puerto Vallarta for a long time, but my love for the 5 de Diciembre neighborhood never fades. <\/p>\n
It is the kind of place that feels like the "real" Mexico. <\/p>\n
While most people head straight for the bustling crowds of Zona Rom\u00e1ntica, I often find myself walking the other way. <\/p>\n
There is a specific kind of magic here in the early morning. <\/p>\n
The air is still cool, the sun is just starting to hit the orange and yellow walls of the houses, and the smell of fresh corn tortillas is everywhere. <\/p>\n
If you are a solo traveller, this neighborhood is an absolute gem. <\/p>\n
It is safe, compact, and full of hidden spots that make you feel like a local rather than a tourist. <\/p>\n
Yesterday, I decided to take myself on a solo date to soak it all in. <\/p>\n
Here is what a perfect morning looks like in 5 de Diciembre.<\/p>\n
My morning always starts with a desperate need for caffeine. <\/p>\n
I headed straight to Caf\u00e9 Oro Verde. <\/p>\n
It is a tiny, unfussy spot that takes coffee very seriously. <\/p>\n
They roast their own beans right there, and the smell alone is enough to wake you up. <\/p>\n
I ordered a bold espresso and sat on a small stool, watching the neighborhood come to life. <\/p>\n
There were no loud groups or screaming children: just me, my coffee, and the sound of the roaster humming in the background. <\/p>\n

5 de Diciembre is famous for its steep, cobblestone streets. <\/p>\n
It is a great workout, but best of all, the views get better with every step. <\/p>\n
I passed small grocery stores where owners were sweeping their doorsteps and saying "buenos d\u00edas" to everyone who walked by. <\/p>\n
I love that about this area. <\/p>\n
It is a true family-run neighborhood where everyone knows each other. <\/p>\n

You cannot walk through 5 de Diciembre without stopping at Shekinah Caf\u00e9. <\/p>\n
This place has such a homey, welcoming feel. <\/p>\n
I went in specifically for their famous cinnamon rolls. <\/p>\n
They are warm, sticky, and probably the best in the entire city. <\/p>\n
As a solo traveler, I find it so easy to just grab a seat by the window and enjoy a quiet moment. <\/p>\n
Nobody rushes you here. <\/p>\n
It is the perfect spot to plan your day or just people-watch. <\/p>\n
