I have a secret about Puerto Vallarta. Everyone talks about the glitz of the big resorts, but the real magic happens in the hills. <\/p>\n

Specifically, the hills of 5 de Diciembre.<\/p>\n

I wake up every morning in this neighborhood and feel like I\u2019ve actually arrived in Mexico. Not the "all-inclusive" version, but the real one. <\/p>\n

The one with the sounds of brooms sweeping cobblestones and the smell of fresh tortillas. <\/p>\n

If you are a solo traveler, this is your sanctuary. There is no better place to master the art of the slow morning. <\/p>\n

Waking Up with the Sun<\/h3>\n

My day always starts at Casa CC<\/a>. <\/p>\n

I love waking up here because the light is just… WOW. <\/p>\n

I\u2019m not a morning person usually. Back home, I hit snooze five times. But here? <\/p>\n

The view from the window is my morning coffee before I even have coffee. I sit on the balcony for a few minutes and just breathe. <\/p>\n

The colors are just so vibrant. You see piles of bright orange papayas and deep red dragon fruit. <\/p>\n

I highly recommend finding a fruit vendor and getting a big cup of mango. <\/p>\n

Get it with lime and Taj\u00edn. Trust me on this. It is the best breakfast you will ever have for just a few pesos. <\/p>\n

I usually stand there and eat it while watching the town wake up. It\u2019s a simple pleasure, but it\u2019s my favorite part of the day.<\/p>\n

Finding My Focus<\/h3>\n

After the fruit, I need my caffeine. <\/p>\n

As a digital nomad, my work-life balance<\/a> is everything. <\/p>\n

I don't want to spend all day inside. I want to work from places that feel like a vacation.<\/p>\n

5 de Diciembre is full of these spots. <\/p>\n

I wander toward the Malec\u00f3n or duck into one of the hidden cafes for digital nomads<\/a> that only the locals really know about. <\/p>\n

There is something so satisfying about answering emails while hearing the waves crash nearby. <\/p>\n

It doesn't feel like work. It feels like living. <\/p>\n

I spend a couple of hours getting through my tasks. The internet is usually great, and the coffee is always fresh. <\/p>\n

Once the "must-do" items are off my list, I head to the sand.<\/p>\n

Playa Camarones is the main beach in 5 de Diciembre. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s different from the beaches in the southern part of town. It\u2019s wider. It\u2019s quieter. <\/p>\n

I love walking along the shoreline. The water is usually a bit more energetic here, and the sand is soft. <\/p>\n

I see people fishing. I see couples walking their dogs. <\/p>\n

But mostly, I see space. <\/p>\n

As a solo traveler, sometimes you just want space to think. To reflect. <\/p>\n

I find a spot under a palm tree and just watch the horizon. The mountains wrap around the bay like a big hug. <\/p>\n

It is SOOO beautiful. <\/p>\n

I usually take a few photos for our Instagram<\/a> because the light on the water is just perfect at this time of day.<\/p>\n

The "Slow" Philosophy<\/h3>\n

Why do I love 5 de Diciembre so much? <\/p>\n

It\u2019s because it forces you to slow down. <\/p>\n

In other parts of town, everything is fast. People are selling things. Music is blasting. <\/p>\n

But here, the rhythm is dictated by the sun and the hills. <\/p>\n

You have to walk slowly because the hills are steep. You have to wait for your coffee because it\u2019s made with care. <\/p>\n

This neighborhood is for the traveler who wants to feel the heartbeat of the city. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s for the person who values a quiet workspace and a stunning view over a crowded bar. <\/p>\n

I\u2019ve stayed in a lot of places, but the condos here feel like home. <\/p>\n

They are modern but still feel like Puerto Vallarta. <\/p>\n

My Recommendation<\/h3>\n

If you are planning a trip to PV and you want to avoid the typical tourist traps, 5 de Diciembre is the answer. <\/p>\n

It is safe. It is authentic. It is GORGEOUS. <\/p>\n

I highly recommend staying in this part of town. <\/p>\n

Whether you are here for a week or a month, you will find your own morning ritual. <\/p>\n

You\u2019ll find your favorite taco stand. You\u2019ll find the spot on the beach where the waves are just right. <\/p>\n

And best of all, you\u2019ll find a sense of peace that is hard to get anywhere else. <\/p>\n

Don't rush it. Let the morning take its time. <\/p>\n
