Most "vacation spots" are loud and crowded. They are full of big groups and noisy resorts. <\/p>\n

That is why I keep coming back to Puerto Vallarta. <\/p>\n

It is my ultimate sanctuary. <\/p>\n

I have found my zen here. <\/p>\n

Finding your zen starts with where you put your bags. <\/p>\n

You cannot relax if you are in a sterile hotel room. <\/p>\n

Feeling the sand between my toes while the waves crash nearby? <\/p>\n

AMAZING!! <\/p>\n

But in Puerto Vallarta, I have mastered the solo digital nomad life<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The secret is balance. <\/p>\n

I set up my workspace near a window. <\/p>\n

I need to see the Sierra Madre mountains while I type. <\/p>\n

The greenery calms my brain. <\/p>\n

Our units are built for this. <\/p>\n

We make sure the Wi-Fi is fast and the chairs are comfortable. <\/p>\n

When I get overwhelmed with emails, I step onto the balcony. <\/p>\n

I take five deep breaths of salty air. <\/p>\n

Then I get back to it. <\/p>\n

The colors are so vibrant. <\/p>\n

The pink bougainvillea against the white walls is SOOO beautiful. <\/p>\n

I also love the local markets. <\/p>\n

Buying fresh tortillas or local honey makes me feel connected. <\/p>\n

Supporting local family businesses is part of the zen experience. <\/p>\n

It feels good to know where your food comes from. <\/p>\n

It feels good to see the same friendly faces every day. <\/p>\n

Puerto Vallarta is a big city, but it feels like a small town. <\/p>\n

People here are so kind. <\/p>\n

They respect your space if you want to be alone. <\/p>\n

But they are always ready with a smile if you want to say "Hola."<\/p>\n

The Sunset Ritual<\/h2>\n

You cannot talk about zen in PV without talking about the sunset. <\/p>\n

Every evening is a different show. <\/p>\n

I like to find a quiet spot on the beach. <\/p>\n

I bring a towel and just sit. <\/p>\n

I don't look at my phone. <\/p>\n

I just watch the sun dip into Banderas Bay. <\/p>\n

The sky turns purple and orange and deep red. <\/p>\n

It is a reminder that the world is huge and beautiful. <\/p>\n

My problems feel very small during sunset. <\/p>\n

That is the definition of zen to me. <\/p>\n
