We love taking walks through the winding streets of Amapas just to look at the plants. You will see wild hibiscus, bright ginger flowers, and vines that look like they belong in a movie. It is like living inside a botanical garden, but with the ocean as your front yard!<\/p>\n

Hiking the Coastal Path<\/h3>\n
If you are like us and love a good walk, the coastal path is a total MUST. You can start right at the southern end of Los Muertos beach.<\/p>\n
There is a rocky headland called "El P\u00falpito" that separates the main tourist beach from the more secluded areas. We love walking over the stone steps here. It is one of our favorite spots for A Romantic Stroll<\/a> because it feels so private and wild.<\/p>\n As you walk, keep your eyes on the rocks! We always see dozens of crabs scuttling around and huge iguanas soaking up the midday sun. They are totally harmless and so cool to watch.<\/p>\n Once you cross over El P\u00falpito, you find Playa Amapas. This is not your typical tourist beach. <\/p>\n There are no massive high-rises or loud music here. Instead, you get a small, golden-sand cove protected by the rocks. It is much quieter than the main beach, which makes it a dream for a puerto vallarta digital nomad<\/a> who needs a break from the screen.<\/p>\n We highly recommend bringing a towel and just sitting under the shade of the trees. The water is usually very clear here because it is sheltered from the heavy surf. It is underwater too! <\/p>\n The rocky sections of Playa Amapas are home to so much marine life. If you bring a snorkel mask, you can see schools of bright yellow King Angelfish and Sergeant Majors right near the shore. <\/p>\n We have even seen small rays and octopuses hiding in the crevices of the rocks. It is amazing how much biodiversity is tucked away just a few minutes from the city center. We see bright yellow Orioles and cheeky Grackles every single day. If you are lucky, you might even spot a Military Macaw flying over from the deeper jungle. There is something about the combination of the mountains and the sea that makes everything feel more intimate.<\/p>\n We love that you can spend your morning hiking a jungle trail and your afternoon snorkeling in a quiet cove, then walk just ten minutes and be at a world-class restaurant. It is the best of both worlds!<\/p>\n The lack of big crowds makes it feel like your own little secret. It is quiet, it is beautiful, and it is incredibly relaxing.
