I have been living the dream as a puerto vallarta digital nomad for a while now, and I can tell you there is nothing quite like waking up in Amapas.
The hills are lush, the air is fresh, and the views of the bay are absolutely incredible.
But as much as I love my quiet morning routine, sometimes I need a change of scenery to really get my creative juices flowing.
Working from home is great, but finding that perfect corner in a local café with a strong brew and reliable Wi-Fi is a total game-changer.
If you are staying in one of our zona romantica puerto vallarta rentals, you are just a short, scenic stroll away from some of the best workspaces in the city.
I’ve spent countless hours scouting the neighborhood for the best spots to set up shop.
Whether you need total silence or a bit of local buzz, here are my top recommendations for cafés near Amapas that are perfect for getting things done.
Starting the Day at The Nest
Before I head out, I usually start my morning at The Nest.
It is one of my favorite puerto vallarta digital nomad spots because the natural light in the units is just AMAZING!!
I love sitting by the window with my first cup of coffee, looking out at the greenery before I decide which café to visit for the day.
If you want to stay in a place that feels like a private sanctuary but is still close to all the action, I highly recommend checking out The Nest.
It’s the perfect base for anyone who needs to stay productive while enjoying the tropical lifestyle.

1. A Page in the Sun
This place is an absolute classic in the Romantic Zone.
It’s part bookstore, part café, and it has such a cool, intellectual vibe that I find so inspiring.
The Wi-Fi is reliable, which is the most important thing for us nomads, right?
I love that they have plenty of tables and a menu full of healthy options to keep you fueled.
It’s usually pretty quiet, making it a great spot for deep work or catching up on emails.
Plus, being surrounded by thousands of books just makes me feel more productive!
2. El Sofa Cafe
If the name didn’t give it away, this place is all about comfort.
It honestly feels like working from a friend's very stylish living room.
They have really leaned into the remote work culture, so you will always see other people on their laptops here.
The staff is so friendly and they never make you feel rushed, which I really appreciate.
Their breakfast sandwiches are soooo good, you have to try one if you go!
3. Calmate Cafe
This is a hidden gem that I discovered recently, and it has quickly become a favorite.
It is a bit smaller and more intimate, which I LOVE for when I really need to focus.
The coffee is top-notch, and the atmosphere is very calm and peaceful.
It’s the kind of place where you can just put your headphones on and disappear into your work for a few hours.

4. Mi Cafe
If you are looking for a spot with incredible food and a great local vibe, Mi Cafe is the place to be.
It is located on Madero and Naranjo, which is a very easy walk from Amapas.
The internet is surprisingly fast, and the atmosphere is lively but not distracting.
I usually head here when I want a full breakfast while I work through my morning to-do list.
Their chilaquiles are some of the best in town, highly recommended!!
5. Puerto Cafe
For the true coffee connoisseurs out there, you cannot miss Puerto Cafe.
They take their beans very seriously, and the quality shows in every cup.
It’s a smaller space, so it’s better for shorter work sessions rather than an all-day marathon.
But for a quick hour of power with the best espresso in the neighborhood, it is unbeatable.
I love the minimalist, modern look of the shop; it feels very fresh and clean.
The Amapas Advantage
One of the best things about staying in Amapas is the balance of peace and proximity.
You get to live in a quiet, upscale neighborhood but you are only 10 or 15 minutes away from these vibrant work spots.
I often talk about this in my other post about morning coffee with a view, because that morning ritual is so important.
Walking down the hill into the heart of the Romantic Zone is a great way to wake up and get moving before sitting down to work.
And if you ever need a break from the screen, you can always take one of the many walking tours in the heart of pv to clear your head.
Why We Love Supporting Local
When you choose to work from these cafés, you aren't just getting a desk and some caffeine.
You are supporting local business owners who are the heart and soul of Puerto Vallarta.
As a family-run business ourselves, we know how much that support means to the community.
We take so much pride in offering puerto vallarta condos for rent by owner because it allows us to give you a truly authentic experience.
We love sharing our insider tips, like which café has the fastest upload speeds or the best iced lattes.
It’s all about that personal touch that you just don’t get with big rental agencies.
Final Thoughts for Nomads
Living and working in Puerto Vallarta is an incredible experience if you know the right spots.
Amapas gives you the best of both worlds: serenity at home and a bustling café culture just down the street.
I honestly couldn't imagine a better place to be a digital nomad.
