While the weekends bring a big energy to the city, Tuesday through Thursday has a magic all its own. This is when we really find our local rhythm.

Morning Focus and Coastal Views
Our mornings usually start early. The sun comes up over the mountains and the air is fresh.
If you work remotely like we do, this is the best time for deep work. The Amapas neighborhood is so quiet. You won’t hear the noise of the busy city center here.
We usually grab a coffee and sit on our balcony. Looking out at the ocean helps us focus. We get a few hours of work done before the heat of the day kicks in.

The coastal path winds along the rocky shoreline. It leads you toward Conchas Chinas.
The water here is crystal clear. It is much quieter than the main beach area. We love to find a small sandy cove and just sit for a while.
It is the perfect break for couples. You can talk, listen to the waves, and feel like you have the whole ocean to yourselves.
Authentic Tastes and Local Bites
By noon, we are usually hungry. And in Puerto Vallarta, food is everything.
We don't always go to the big restaurants on the beach. Mid-week is the best time to visit the local taco stands.
The flavors are so much more authentic. You get to see the real life of the city. We love the smell of grilled meat and fresh tortillas in the air.

An Afternoon in the Sierra Madre
After a big lunch, we sometimes head toward the hills.
The Sierra Madre mountains are right behind us. There are so many hiking trails that start just a few minutes from the Amapas coast.
The jungle is so green and lush. You might see colorful birds or butterflies. It is a great way to disconnect from the digital world.
We find that these hikes are the best for clearing our heads. The views from the top are AMAZING. You can see the whole bay stretching out in front of you.
If you prefer a slower afternoon, you can just relax in a modern space. Many of our Puerto Vallarta condo rentals have beautiful kitchens where you can whip up a fresh fruit snack with ingredients from the local market.

We often spend our Wednesday evenings walking along the Malecón. We watch the street performers and enjoy the ocean breeze. It is simple, but it is the best part of living here.
