I have lived in Puerto Vallarta for a long time.
I know every corner of this beautiful town.
But my absolute favorite place to find peace is Amapas.
It is tucked away just past the busy energy of Zona Romántica.
If you are a solo traveler, you need this place in your life.
It is quiet. It is green. It is BEAUTIFUL.
I love how the jungle meets the sea right here.
Most people stay on the main beach. They miss the best parts!
I want to show you the hidden side of our neighborhood.
Let's talk about the stairs.
Finding the Secret Path
To find the peace I’m talking about, you have to look for it.
I always start my walk at the end of Los Muertos Beach.
You will see a giant rock called El Púlpito.
It looks like a big stone tower rising from the water.
Right next to it, there are stone stairs.
They are hidden behind some trees.
I remember the first time I climbed them. I felt like an explorer!
These stairs take you up and over the cliff.
The view from the top is AMAZING!!
You can see the whole bay from up there.
It is the perfect spot to stop and breathe.
The air smells like salt and tropical flowers.
I highly recommend taking a moment here to just look at the water.
It is so blue and sparkling.
The Walk to Playa Amapas
Once you cross the ridge, the path winds down.
It is a bit rocky and uneven.
I always tell our guests to wear good sandals.
Don't wear flip-flops for this part!
You will walk under huge Amapas trees.
They have these big green leaves that provide so much shade.
It feels sooo much cooler under the trees.
Eventually, you reach Playa Amapas.
This is a tiny, semi-hidden beach.
It is much quieter than the main beach in Old Town.
I love coming here with a book.
There are no loud music or big crowds.
Just the sound of the waves hitting the rocks.
It is pure bliss for anyone traveling alone.

Where to Stay for Maximum Serenity
If you want to be close to these trails, we have some great spots.
We are a local family business.
We care about your experience.
I personally make sure every guest feels welcome.
Our Casa CC is perfect for this.
It has those breathtaking mountain views I talk about all the time.
You can watch the sunrise over the Sierra Madre from your bed.
It is one of our best puerto vallarta condo rentals.
The location is ideal.
You are close enough to walk to the "hidden" stairs.
But you are far enough away to enjoy total quiet.

Another great option is Sueno.
It is a beautiful space for a couple or a solo digital nomad.
We offer some of the most comfortable condo and apartment rentals puerto vallarta has to offer.
The natural light in this unit is incredible.
I love working from the balcony there.
You can see the green mountains and the blue ocean at the same time.
It is very inspiring for remote work!
The Magic of the Hidden Stairs
There isn't just one set of stairs in Amapas.
The whole hillside is connected by little walkways.
I call them the "vessels" of the neighborhood.
Some are made of old stone. Others are modern.
They weave between the low-rise villas and the jungle.
I love getting "lost" on these paths.
Every turn reveals a new view.
Sometimes you see a colorful bougainvillea spilling over a wall.
Sometimes you see a bright yellow bird in the trees.
It is so much better than walking on a flat sidewalk.
It keeps you fit too!
Those stairs are a great workout.
But the reward is always worth it.
You find little corners of the city that feel like a secret.
It is the most authentic way to see Puerto Vallarta.
Lunch with a Local Vibe
After a long walk on the stairs, I usually get hungry.
I don't go to the big tourist spots.
I prefer the local spots where you can get authentic PV flavors.
There are some great little cafes near the base of Amapas.
They serve fresh fruit and amazing coffee.
I love sitting there and watching the world go by.
It is a great way to meet other solo travelers too.
Everyone is so friendly here.
You will never feel alone in Puerto Vallarta unless you want to be.
That is the beauty of our town.
It is welcoming and warm.

Why Solo Travelers LOVE Amapas
I talk to a lot of solo travelers.
They all say the same thing.
They want to feel safe and they want to feel inspired.
Amapas gives you both.
It is a very safe neighborhood.
I walk these paths alone all the time.
And the inspiration comes from the scenery.
The mix of the Sierra Madre mountains and the Bay of Banderas is MAGIC.
You get the best of both worlds.
You have the beach for relaxation.
You have the mountains for exploration.
And you have our personalized service to make sure everything is perfect.
We greet you when you arrive.
We give you the insider knowledge.
We want you to love this place as much as we do!
A Quick Tip for Your Stroll
If you decide to explore the hidden stairs, go in the late afternoon.
The golden hour in Amapas is SOOO pretty.
The light hits the colorful walls of the houses.
The jungle looks extra green.
And you can time your walk so you are at a viewpoint for sunset.
It is the best show in town. And it's totally free!
Just remember to bring your camera.
You will want to take a thousand pictures.
I know I always do.

We post a lot of photos from our favorite local spots.
Final Thoughts on Finding Peace
Puerto Vallarta can be busy.
It can be loud and full of energy.
I love that side of it too.
But we all need a break sometimes.
Amapas is that break.
It is the place where you can find yourself again.
Whether you are walking the stairs or sitting on a balcony at Sueno.
It is where the "real" PV happens.
I highly recommend spending at least one morning exploring the stairs.
You won't regret it.
It is the highlight of many people's trips.
I hope to see you here soon!
We are ready to welcome you to our family-owned condos.
Let us help you find your peace in paradise.
It is going to be an AMAZING trip.
See you on the stairs!
