We absolutely LOVE the Amapas neighborhood. It is easily our favorite spot for a quiet getaway. Most people stay in the middle of the noise in Old Town. But we think the real magic happens just a few minutes south.
Amapas sits right where the jungle meets the sea. It is tucked into the hillside with some of the most incredible views you will ever see. We spend so much of our time here exploring the quiet corners that most tourists miss.
If you are looking for a romantic escape or a peaceful place to get some work done, this is it. It feels like a private paradise. But best of all, you can still walk to all the best taco stands and beaches in minutes.
The Secret Coastal Walk
One of our favorite things to do is the walk from Amapas to Conchas Chinas. Most people stick to the main Los Muertos beach. We prefer to head south!
There is a small stone stairway right over the rocks at the end of the beach. It leads you along the coastline to some tiny, hidden coves. These little beaches are almost always empty on weekdays. It is so romantic to just sit on the rocks and watch the waves.
The water here is crystal clear. It is perfect for a quick swim between work meetings. We highly recommend bringing a towel and just disappearing for a few hours.
Where We Stay in Amapas
When we want to be right in the heart of this vibe, we always choose our own favorite spots. We have two places that are perfect for couples or solo travelers who need a great workspace.
First is Casa Vizcarra 2. This place is incredible for anyone looking for puerto vallarta condo rentals that feel modern and fresh. The windows are huge and let in so much natural light. We love sitting in the living room and looking out at the mountains.

Digital Nomad Heaven
We know a lot of you are working while you travel. We do it too! Amapas is the best neighborhood for digital nomads. It is so much quieter than the main hotel zone.
The Wi-Fi in our units is fast and reliable. You can take your video calls with the Sierra Madre mountains in the background. It definitely beats working from a dark office back home!
When we need a break from the screen, we head out for a quick jungle walk. The hills of Amapas have small local trails that are great for clearing your head. The air is so fresh up there.
Local Bites and Quiet Cafes
Even though Amapas is residential, you are never far from food. We like to walk down the hill into the zona romantica puerto vallarta rentals area for lunch.
